Śrī Śivastuti with Nine Classical Commentaries
Śrī Śivastuti was composed by Śrī Nārāyaṇa Paṇḍitācārya, the illustrious son of the renowned scholar Śrī Trivikrama Paṇḍitācārya, the ornament of the Likucha lineage, celebrated among poets, and one of the foremost disciples blessed by **Śrī Madhvācārya (Śrīmad Ānandatīrtha Bhagavatpāda)**. Śrī Nārāyaṇa Paṇḍitācārya is also the celebrated author of the Madhva Vijaya, the authoritative biography of Śrī Madhvācārya, and the Saṅgraha Rāmāyaṇa, among several other classical works.
According to tradition, Śrī Śivastuti was composed in the sacred presence of Lord Rāmeśvara during the author's pilgrimage to Rāmeśvaram.
This hymn glorifies Sadāśiva, revered in the Dvaita tradition as the foremost among the devotees of Lord Viṣṇu (Parama Vaiṣṇava). Through exquisite poetry and profound devotion, Śrī Nārāyaṇa Paṇḍitācārya celebrates the divine virtues, greatness, and spiritual eminence of Lord Śiva. The hymn has been cherished for centuries and continues to be recited daily with devotion by followers of the Mādhva tradition.
Over the centuries, several eminent scholars have written commentaries on this revered hymn. For the first time, nine classical commentaries have been critically edited and published together in a single volume, offering readers an unparalleled opportunity to study the rich exegetical tradition surrounding this masterpiece.
